Human activities are mainly responsible for water pollution. Domestic waste products are the biggest source of pollution of water. Industrial wastes and city sewages directly pollute the water of ponds, rivers, and oceans. Chemical and fertilizers used by farmers in their lands also pollute water. During the rainy season, these chemicals and fertilizers washed into ponds and rivers thus pollute water. Contamination of water also caused by the dumping of oil and waste by water vehicles. The rise in the temperature of the water is also a kind of water pollution.

Further pollution may occur due to radioactive substances from nuclear power plants and medical. However, water pollution is a great threat to the ecosystem as well as public health. Cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis result from polluted water. Heavy metals from polluted water may lead to cancer in animals including humans. We may have to face a horrible situation due to a lack of drinkable water. The total food chain will be disrupted by this. But we need to think about our future generation. If water pollution continues, no living animal will survive.

So to prevent water pollution, domestic garbage should dispose of properly. We shouldn't dispose of oils and paints in a sink or drain. The use of plastic material should be avoided. To prevent water pollution public awareness is the major key. Strict rules need to apply properly by law enforcement organizations.
