Essay on Annual Sports Day of School

Annual Sports Day Essay/Composition; Annual Sports Day is a happy occasion for the students, teachers, and guardians. The last annual sports of our school were held on 10th March 2020. We observed the day amidst joy and merriment.

On this occasion, we decorated our school campus and the surroundings of the playground with colorful papers and festoons. A gate was erected nicely to welcome the chief guest and other elite persons, Outside the playground, a Shamiana was set up, and adequate seating arrangements were made for the invited guests and guardians. A band party was also hired to make the sports attractive. The sports started punctually at 9:30 am with the hoisting of the national flag and the flying of the pigeons. After this, the march past of the participants took place. The Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong, who was the chief guest, took the salute.

There were as many as thirty-four events including different kinds of races and jumps. About two hundred students participated in the events. Among the events sack, race and three-legged race were very interesting and they made us all laugh. The dress as you like and the tug of war between the students and teachers gave us the greatest amusement.

At the end of the events, the chief guest made a short speech on the importance and utility of games and sports in our life. After that, he gave away the prizes among the winners.

After the distribution of the prizes, our headmaster thanked the chief guest for his kind visit to the school. He also gave a vote of thanks to all who attended the function and to others who worked hard for the success of the function. Thus the function came to an end. I got two prizes. It was indeed, a happy occasion for me.
